TORONTO RAILWAY MUSEUM

Over the last four years, I have had the opportunity to work with the Toronto Railway Museum, in conjunction with students from the University of Toronto Faculty of Information department, in creating three new exhibits about the history of railways in Toronto and Canada . Their team provided me with photos and copy and then essentially gave me creative freedom to find a unique way to display the information.

In 2018, the initial concept for The History of the John Street Roundhouse was to play with the motifs and textures featured within the old steam engines housed at the museum. For the two subsequent displays (2019’s Get Things in Loco-Motion! and 2021’s Roundhouse ‘Round the Clock) the theming evolved to incorporate a more modern feel with each new display.
